AirPods 2

I stumbled upon a link today that really enhances your AirPods.

When the AirPods were first announced, it seemed like Apple had designed a system that would allow you to automatically change devices without having to do anything but push play and put the AirPods in your ears. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

AirPods are still much easier to connect to devices than the BlueTooth headphones that came before, but you still have to connect individually each time you change devices.

But today, I came across this website that shows you how to create some automation that will run when you have the AirPods in your ears and start to listen to music, podcasts, or whatever you app you use to listen.

The steps are simple to set up for the iPhone and iPad, I haven’t tried to Mac steps yet.

On iOS, you are setting up an automation to run when you open up apps that you usually listen to audio from. There is a bit of an annoyance though. Anytime you open the app, you’ll get a notification that the automation ran. It is annoying, and there’s no real way to stop it from happening right now, but that could change in the future.

Still, it might be worth a look if you want your AirPods to connect anytime you open up Music, Podcasts, or Spotify.
