If you saw my article yesterday, you know that while I could help many with their choices, I was very conflicted about what to order for myself. Even up to the last minute, I debated if I should go with the regular iPhone 13 Pro or the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
I ended up sticking with my decision to order the smaller Pro model, in Sierra Blue, with 256GB capacity. So right as the clock struck 7:00 AM central time, I fired up the Apple Store App on my phone. I wasn’t going to have to change anything on my pre-approved order.
Last year, things had been so smooth. I fired up the app right on time, push a button and the phone got ordered. This year ordering iPhone 13 wasn’t smooth. The app responded quickly, but my saved order wasn’t anywhere to be found. Once I found it and moved on to purchase, for some reason, my Apple Card info wasn’t saved in the Apple Store App. Hmmm.
I quickly hurried over to the Wallet App and had to search for the number and security code. I rushed back to the Apple Store app to put the number in. Even though I’m not as excited about a new iPhone as I once was, I was ready to get rid of this iPhone 12, and I didn’t want to wait weeks to get it. I entered the numbers and pushed the button to complete the transaction!
Only the transaction didn’t complete. Apple told me that there was an issue with my Apple Card.

This couldn’t be right. I just used my Apple Card the day before. I had just been charged that morning for something on the App Store.
So I hurriedly entered the info in again. Same issue. I repeated this process more than I care to admit. At one point, I got a message saying there was an issue with my iPhone Upgrade Program application.
And I wasn’t the only one. Running through Twitterbrings up some Tech experts having trouble as well.
I couldn’t even use my Apple Card: it kept throwing an error, so I had to use a different card. What gives? https://t.co/taQ952UVLk

Ultimately, I entered a different credit card and my transaction was approved. I still got launch day shipping (barring natural disasters). So even though I was frustrated, I still had success ordering iPhone 13 Pro. Hopefully, I can bring you updates and a review of using the new Sierra Blue iPhone 13 Pro in the next couple of weeks.
