Frequent rumor specialist Mark Gurman released a new report today with leaks about what’s coming to iOS 13, macOS 10.15, and watchOS 6 over at Bloomberg.
Many of these rumors have been mentioned before here before (iOS 13, macOS 10.15) but the watch info is new.
Coming to watchOS 6
- The watch App Store is about to break away from the phone. It would be nice to have a dedicated watch App Store on the watch, and it would be even better if apps could break away from their counterpart on the phone.
Anything that could bring more independence.
- It looks like we are also getting Voice Memos, Calculator, and Books apps on the watch – finally. I don’t think any of these apps will actually get used on my watch. The books app is there so you can listen to your audiobooks by the way. It’s not so you can read a book on your wrist.
- New watch faces are coming, which is always fun. Until they give us a watch face store.
- Animoji and Memoji support are coming so you can view these on your watch.
- And updates to HealthKit to improve pill reminders and menstrual cycle tracking.
watchOS has become one of the most intriguing operating systems for me. I’m excited by where this can go more than I am about iOS or macOS. It is also the least leaked info so far. I’d like to see it continue to get better without the help of the iPhone as well.
Of course, all of this could change between now and WWDC.
All of these rumors and the date getting closer, I’m excited to see what really is next for Apple and all its systems.
Do any of these rumors excite you? What are you most looking forward to at WWDC?
