According to a internal Apple Store training document obtained by MacRumors.com, the ECG functionality will finally make its way to the Apple Watch.
watchOS 5.1.2 is currently in beta testing. We don’t have a firm date on when it will be released, but it shouldn’t be before too long.
Once released, it looks like there will be an ECG app which you open. Once the app is open you put your index finger of your opposite hand on the dial and wait 30 seconds. This should allow users to check for irregular heart patterns. Think the beeping sound in every hospital in every movie, but real and on your wrist. You will then be able to send that heart rhythm to your doctor as needed.
I’ll have more for you once 5.1.2 comes out and I get a chance to use it. Remember, this will only be on Apple Watch Series 4 for now.
Make sure you check out the Apple Watch Series 4 review.
