Apple finally released the new version of AirPods today, just the day after announcing new iMacs, and new iPads Monday.
The new AirPods come with a new chip inside that is supposed to allow the wireless headphones to connect quickly to your multiple devices, faster than the previous version. It also now allows “Hey Siri,” as has been rumored. Finally, the battery life has increased across the board.
But that’s not all!
With this release, you can get the standard case with the new AirPods for the same $159 price. You can order the new AirPods with an optional wireless charging case for $199, or you can upgrade your previous model 1 AirPods to wireless charging for $79.
What isn’t clear is if AirPower will be coming soon. Apple doesn’t mention it anywhere in the release, which you would think they would mention if they plan on allowing the wireless charging to happen. People would want to plan accordingly.
You can also get your AirPods case engraved if you order through Apple.

You can order today and they will shipped next week.
Apple has released something every day this week. Could we see AirPower tomorrow? What about the rumored updated iPod Touch? I like this trend, but my bank account doesn’t. Still, I’m excited to see what comes out tomorrow.
