We are getting closer to the start line.  I’m not sure about you, but I’m starting to get a little nervous.

Our stories should be about plotted out.  I don’t want to add too much more to what we already wrote.  A word of warning here: don’t feel like you have to stick 100% to your story.  You will take turns that you didn’t know you wanted to take while you write.  Let it happen, it might make things better than you thought possible.

Now, I do still have an exercise for you tonight.

Test your process

There’s a big deadline coming up, and one of the things you don’t want to be doing is deciding that you want to change up the way you write.

I do this pretty often when I start writing.  I’ll start with a certain program or device, and as I’m going I might start trying a different one.

It’s a form of procrastination.  It doesn’t matter if you use pen and paper, if you change pens, or move to a computer, you’re still writing.

So don’t stop.

Tonight, I want to test our writing process to make sure that everything is going to work right.

So tonight, I want you to write about something that happened to your character before your story starts.

Go through the process like you will be in a few days and make sure that you know how to use the system that you want to use.

Wrap up

Feel free to post your story here.  The more eyes you have on a piece before you go the better.  Plus if you start writing now, the creativity muscles will start going.

NaNoWriMo hasn’t started yet and I’m already tired.  Only two full days left before type-off.

As always make sure you’re following the site on Twitter and Facebook.  There’s also a Facebook Group that’s to get going, so join us over there.
