Apple today implemented a “new feature” for its Apple-branded credit card. Starting today, those with the Apple Card can use it to buy most Apple products over time with 0% interest, as well as get 3% cashback.
To get the feature, simply shop the Apple Shop app. Product pages look to have been updated to list the monthly cost of devices as well as the full price so you can see how much and how long the loan lasts. Once you check out, you will be given the option to pay in full or in payments with Apple Card.
Inside the Wallet app on your iPhone, you can see all the details about your loan. Your loan will also be applied to your minimum payment for the month, so you can pay off your loan and whatever other purchases have been made with the card.
It seems like most of Apple’s products have the option to use payments. Noticeably absent from the program is the Apple Watch. However, the iPhone, Mac, iPad, AirPods, HomePod, and Apple TV are all part of the program. With my Smart Home set up, this could be the way I fill my house with HomePods.
Of course, I would suggest holding off buying anything if you can, as Apple’s bound to make some new announcements next week at WWDC.
While I would never recommend anyone buy a product on credit, I think the flexibility is great.
