It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that Apple has officially canceled the AirPower charging mat.

AirPower was supposed to be Apple’s foray into Qi wireless charging. The goal was to charge your phone, watch, and AirPods by placing them anywhere on the charging pad.

There have been many rumors of AirPower being close to release, but those rumors turn out to be false.

Unfortunately, Apple wasn’t able to get the heat under control and after attempting to fix everything for at least 18 months, they have decided that it wasn’t a solution that they could fix with the quality they expected.
