The Apple Fairy came earlier today and brought my new M1 MacBook Air! I plan on giving this thing a good test drive for the next week, comparing it to my iPad Pro, 2019 iMac, and 2020 i3 MacBook Air.

Do you have any questions you’d liked asked or speed comparisons you’d like to see?

Initial reactions are very positive, but I have to be careful not to mix up the i3 and the M1 MacBook Air. It could happen, they are that close!

M1 MacBook Air = Speed

While I haven’t done much but set up up the device, this thing is much more responsive than the i3 MacBook Air. While I don’t think I will be doing too much video encoding on this beast of a machine, everything else feels much snappier. Opening and loading up all the content from Music and Photos took seconds and not minutes like in the past.

Getting everything set up is going to take a while and I’m going to be taking this guy to work tomorrow to see how it works with Microsoft, but so far, everything is going smoothly!
