Apple's iPhone 15 Event invitation, Wonderlust. The Apple logo on a black background.

Apple sent invitations for the next Apple Event titled Wonderlust. The event will take place on September 12, and I’m sure Apple will livestream it like the past events.

Check out most of the rumors, all summed up here. Beware of spoilers.

iPhone 15

September usually means it’s time for new iPhones, and this one is no different. The rumors expect normal iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, although the Max might get rebranded as the ultra.

The headlining feature for them all seems to be USB-C. I asked Apple to bring USB-C or Thunderbolt to the iPhone over a year ago. It would be great if we got a faster and more universal port on the iPhone, but there are rumors that Apple is going to handicap at least the non-pro models.

All devices are also expected to get Dynamic Island, Apple’s tech that hides the cut-out for FaceID and the FaceTime camera. They also might all be getting the 48-megapixel camera in the main camera lens.

The Pro models might be making the move away from stainless steel and heading towards Titanium. While the move will make the phones lighter and stronger, I just hope they don’t increase the cost too much.

Much like last year, the iPhone 15 will likely get the processor in the current 14 Pro line, while the new Pros will get a new chip. The Pro Max is also rumored to get a telescope camera lens so that you can zoom in with greater clarity.

Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2

For the first time since the Apple Watch Series 6, the Apple Watch processor could get an update. A redesign of the Apple Watch isn’t expected this year, but I would expect something big for the tenth version.

Other than that, not much has come out about the newest Apple Watch. Expect faster and maybe better battery life, but not much else.

iPhone Accessories

Not much is expected to be announced, but if the iPhone is moving to USB-C, I would expect updates to AirPods and AirPods Pro cases, but with AirPods Pro 2 just launched recently, I wouldn’t expect new versions. AirPods Max haven’t been updated in a very long time, but there’s nothing in the rumor mill on the horizon.

But will Apple take the time to update its other devices that currently use Lightening like the Magic Trackpad? It will be interesting to see.

Apple Vision Pro

I wouldn’t expect much to come out about Apple Vision Pro if anything happens at all. I’m sure that Apple wants to focus all the attention it can on the iPhone this year. Talking about Apple Vision Pro might break that. Especially if it reminds users how much the device will cost when it comes out early next year.

Speaking of cost, I would love to be able to buy one of these things and bring you all the content on Apple’s AR set when it comes out, but I am without a paycheck at the moment. If you’d like to donate to help support the cause, you can do so here.

But they might tie the new iPhone into things they haven’t announced yet about the VIsion Pro, so that could be interesting.

That’s the big round-up on the next Apple Event Wonderlust. Of course, I’ll be following along and posting on Threads as it goes (as much as I can with a 3.5-month home with me that day.

Also, if you could please share this post with a friend that might be eager for the new iPhone or Apple Watch, it can really help boost the site and allow me to bring you even more coverage of the things you like.

If you want to stay up-to-date with the site or me, make sure you follow me on social media. I post mostly on ThreadsFacebookLinkedIn, and Mastodon, but you can also find me on Instagram and TikTok.
